Reflections on the JESSICA Initiative” has just been published by De Gruyter. The book summarises most of the work and investigations carried out under this research project. We are happy to share our latest work on the JESSICA initiative. The article “Spatial Distribution of JESSICA Funding Across Polish Municipalities. Perspective of Territorial Dimension of EU Cohesion Policy” has just been published as open access in Studia Regionalne i Lokalne. We hope it will be of interest!

The next article written by dr Piotr Idczak and prof. Ida Musiałkowska addressing the decision-making process on urban regeneration in Poland has been just published. The article, entitled “Urban Regeneration as a Specific Type of Public Policy Response to Urban Decline. The Case of Poland “, has appeared at the journal Open Political Science.

A new article written by Piotr Idczak and Karol Mrozik on the territorial impacts of JESSICA projects in cities has been published. The article, entitled “The Territorial Impacts of JESSICA Projects in Municipalities: Evidence from the City of Poznań“, has been published at the Ruch Prawniczy, Ekonomiczny i Socjologiczny journal (Journal of Law, Economics and Sociology).

Prof. Ida Musiałkowska and dr Piotr Idczak were interviewed by EURACTIV.com on the experience gained by cities with regard to the implementation of the JESSICA initiative.

The chapter called "JESSICA Initiative to Support Sustainable Urban Development Projects in Poland" discusses an important novelty in the framework of EU cohesion policy, namely the JESSICA initiative, that is, an instrument offering repayable and recyclable funding targeted at economically-viable and sustainable urban development projects. W czasopiśmie "Economics and Environment" ukazał się kolejny artykuł autorstwa dra Piotr Idczak, prof. Idy Musiałkowskiej oraz dr hab. Karola Mrozika pt. "Ecosystems services in the appraisal of the economic performance of urban regeneration projects exemplified by the JESSICA initiative".

W Biuletynie KPZK ukazał się artykuł pt. "Zdolność projektów JESSICA do oddziaływania na procesy rynkowe w miastach" autorstwa dra Piotra Idczaka, prof. Idy Musiałkowskiej oraz dra Karola Mrozika (Uniwersytet Przyrodniczy w Poznaniu). Jest to publikacja przedstawiająca wyniki dalszych badań prowadzonych w ramach projektu badawczego.

Dr Piotr Idczak, dr hab. Ida Musiałkowska, prof. UEP, uczestniczyli w międzynarodowej konferencji pt. „Metropolises and Peripheries of CEE Countries: New Challenges for EU, National and Regional Policies ”, która odbyła się w Lublinie w dniach 11 – 13 września 2019 r. Podczas tej konferencji zorganizowanej przez Regional Studies Association i Uniwersytet Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej, wygłoszono referaty przedstawiający najnowsze wyniki badań nad inicjatywą JESSICA w Polsce pt.

Ukazał się artykuł pt. "The Capacity of JESSICA Projects to Repay Loans Based on Own Revenues" autorstwa dr hab. Idy Musiałkowskiej, prof. UEP i dr. Piotra Idczaka. Tekst poświęcony jest analize zdolności projektów JESSICA do generowania przychodów i w konsekwencji możlwości spłaty otrzymanej pożyczki. Innymi słowy, autorzy podjęli próbę zbadania zdolności projektów do samofinansowania się.
