Presentation of the report "Motivation for volunteering and to help to solve crises in V4 countries" prepared as part of a research project co-financed by the International Visegrad Fund
We invite you to participate in a seminar during which the results of a report based on research conducted using a combination of CAWI (Computer Assisted Web Interviewing) and CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing) methods will be presented. The report was prepared by an international team representing academic centres from all Visegrad Group countries. The aim of the project is, among other things, to make these results available to audiences in individual countries and to hold a discussion on the knowledge gained. We would like to expand the presentation of these results with the experiences and conclusions of individuals and organisations directly or indirectly involved in providing assistance during recent crisis situations. Local experience confronted with national and international results will certainly enrich the discussion and enable the right conclusions to be drawn.
The report focuses on the following issues:
- involvement of people in helping others through formalised forms of assistance (associations, non-governmental organisations, public institutions, etc.),
- charitable activity towards others offered through informal forms of assistance (philanthropy), such as direct assistance to family members, neighbours, friends and other people,
- making monetary or material donations to help those in need.
With regard to the above activities, the results obtained will provide answers to many questions, including:
- Does gender affect the intensity of people's involvement in charitable activities?
- Which age groups are most involved in helping others?
- Is income level a factor that significantly affects the scope and form of assistance offered?
- Is there a correlation between the level of education and the level of involvement in helping others?
- How important is place of residence in philanthropic activity?
- Do crisis events motivate us to provide more intensive help?
- What crisis events have the greatest impact on our willingness to help others?
- What are the differences in charitable engagement among citizens of the Visegrad Group countries?
